The average export price for aluminium; alloys, wire, maximum cross-sectional dimension is 7mm or lesses stood at $4,126 per ton in December 2023, stabilizing at the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 3.5% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $5,244 per ton. From April 2023 to December 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was India ($4,686 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($2,823 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Morocco (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
