The average aluminium; powders and flakes import price stood at $4,020 per ton in July 2023, waning by -33.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 370% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $25,285 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($50,319 per ton), while the price for Germany ($3,764 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+15.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average aluminium; powders and flakes export price stood at $3,324 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 31% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a notable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, aluminium; powders and flakes export price increased by +71.2% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 31%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Germany.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Germany amounted to +3.8% per year.

In 2022, approx. 273 tons of aluminium; powders and flakeses were imported into Ukraine; shrinking by -69.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports showed a sharp downturn. The smallest decline of -4.9% was in 2020.
