Price for Andalusite, Kyanite and Sillimanite in Hungary (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite import price amounted to $662 per ton, waning by -11% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 69% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,287 per ton. From May 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,516 per ton), while the price for Austria ($368 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+9.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite export price stood at $653 per ton in 2022, increasing by 3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 104% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $969 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($917 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($592 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+10.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
