The average export price for bedspreads; not knitted or crocheteds stood at $9.1 per unit in September 2023, which is down by -2% against the previous month. Over the period from September 2022 to September 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 9.4% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $9.3 per unit in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($22.4 per unit), while the average price for exports to Greece ($5.0 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for bedspreads; not knitted or crocheteds amounted to $12 per unit, waning by -11.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 101%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $13 per unit in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($15 per unit), while the price for Ukraine ($6.6 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+13.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

For the fourth year in a row, Turkey recorded growth in shipments abroad of bedspreads; not knitted or crocheteds, which increased by 4.5% to 7.4M units in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +49.7% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 39%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, bedspreads; not knitted or crocheted exports expanded markedly to $53M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.7% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +60.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 44%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
