In August 2023, the average brass tubes and pipes import price amounted to $10,634 per ton, rising by 7.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 164% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $28,461 per ton. From January 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($10,601 per ton), while the price for Germany amounted to $10,473 per ton.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (-0.2%).

In 2022, the average brass tubes and pipes export price amounted to $51,038 per ton, which is down by -11.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, enjoyed a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 107% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $57,662 per ton, and then shrank in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($107,791 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mozambique ($6,717 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+50.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
