Price for Candy, Sweets, and Nonchocolate Confectionery in Vietnam (FOB) - 2021
The average export price for candies, sweets, and nonchocolate confectionery stood at $3,842 per ton in December 2021, stabilizing at the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2021 an increase of 0.6% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $3,871 per ton in June 2021; however, from July 2021 to December 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In December 2021, the highest price was recorded for prices to Senegal ($4,086 per ton) and the United Arab Emirates ($4,058 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($3,773 per ton) and China ($3,773 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+0.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Price for Candy, Sweets, and Nonchocolate Confectionery in Vietnam (CIF) - 2021
The average import price for candies, sweets, and nonchocolate confectionery stood at $4,192 per ton in December 2021, flattening at the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2021 an increase of 3.6% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $4,415 per ton in March 2021; however, from April 2021 to December 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the countries with the highest prices were the Philippines ($4,913 per ton) and China ($4,155 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($4,141 per ton) and Turkey ($4,141 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+0.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Candy, Sweets, and Nonchocolate Confectionery in Vietnam
In 2022, the amount of candies, sweets, and nonchocolate confectionery exported from Vietnam reached 21K tons, picking up by 4.7% on the previous year. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 19% against the previous year.
In value terms, candy, sweets, and nonchocolate confectionery exports rose remarkably to $91M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a slight decline.
