In 2022, the average export price for cereal grains; worked (eg hulled, pearled, sliced or kibbled) of maize (corn) amounted to $1,192 per ton, which is down by -24.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a noticeable curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 22% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $2,520 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($2,382 per ton), while the average price for exports to Chile ($155 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
