The average import price for cereal grains; worked (eg hulled, pearled, sliced or kibbled) of oatses stood at $1,000 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a noticeable setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 114%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,647 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($3,226 per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($285 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iran (+15.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. 250 tons of cereal grains; worked (eg hulled, pearled, sliced or kibbled) of oatses were imported into Iraq; reducing by -12% against the previous year. In general, imports, however, saw a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 140% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 285 tons, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, imports of cereal grains; worked (eg hulled, pearled, sliced or kibbled) of oatses expanded significantly to $250K in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a measured increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +77.8% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 65%. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
