In October 2023, the average import price for coal; bituminous, whether or not pulverised, but not agglomerateds amounted to $257 per ton, dropping by -4.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 48% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $303 per ton. From June 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The export price peaked at $376 per ton in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to October 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was France ($368 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($199 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+28.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
