The average export price for ferrous waste and scrap; of stainless steels stood at $1,523 per ton in November 2023, which is down by -2.3% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 35% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $1,850 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to November 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($5,396 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($1,437 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+12.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Slovenia ($5,033 per ton), while the price for Austria ($938 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports, however, saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 271% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 1.9K tons, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, imports of ferrous waste and scrap; of stainless steels dropped to $2.9M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded significant growth.
