The average export price for iron ores and concentrates, agglomerated (excluding roasted iron pyrites) stood at $151 per ton in 2022, falling by -14.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, enjoyed a pronounced expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 61%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $177 per ton, and then fell in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Slovakia ($164 per ton) and Egypt ($163 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($119 per ton) and Romania ($124 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+16.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the import price recorded a significant increase. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($4,221 per ton), while the price for Russia stood at $2,958 per ton.
