In July 2023, the average export price for iron ores and concentrates, non-agglomerated amounted to $89.6 per ton, waning by -12.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a mild downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 22% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $115 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($103 per ton), while the average price for exports to China amounted to $89.0 per ton.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
