Price for Liquefied Ethylene, Propylene, Butylene and Butadiene in Belarus (FOB) - 2022

In April 2021, the average export price for liquefied ethylene, propylene, butylene and butadienes amounted to $630 per ton, surging by 24% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a remarkable increase from January 2021 to April 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +16.7% over the last three-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on April 2021 figures, export price for liquefied ethylene, propylene, butylene and butadienes increased by +58.8% against January 2021 indices. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In April 2021, the country with the highest price was Poland ($681 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia stood at $582 per ton.

From January 2021 to April 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+16.2%).

Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $667 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Russia amounted to +3.7% per year.

In value terms, exports of liquefied ethylene, propylene, butylene and butadienes reduced remarkably to $14M in 2022. In general, exports saw a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 169%.
