The average import price for liquefied petroleum gases other than propane, butanes, ethylene, propylene, butylene or butadienes stood at $664 per ton in October 2023, growing by 18% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $771 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to October 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($670 per ton), while the price for Italy ($613 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Croatia (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In November 2023, the average export price for liquefied petroleum gases other than propane, butanes, ethylene, propylene, butylene or butadienes amounted to $672 per ton, picking up by 8.3% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a mild contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2023 an increase of 28% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $796 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to November 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($1,389 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($633 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Croatia (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

For the third consecutive year, Slovenia recorded decline in purchases abroad of liquefied petroleum gases other than propane, butanes, ethylene, propylene, butylene or butadienes, which decreased by -7.8% to 3.1K tons in 2022. Overall, imports showed a abrupt slump. The smallest decline of -7.8% was in 2021.

In value terms, imports of liquefied petroleum gases other than propane, butanes, ethylene, propylene, butylene or butadienes reduced to $1.2M in 2022. In general, imports saw a abrupt contraction.

In value terms, exports of liquefied petroleum gases other than propane, butanes, ethylene, propylene, butylene or butadienes surged to $6.1M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a significant increase. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
