Price for Mineral or Aerated Water in Chile (CIF) - 2022

The average mineral or aerated water import price stood at $0.8 per litre in 2022, rising by 15% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a slight setback. The import price peaked at $1.1 per litre in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($2.6 per litre), while the price for Peru ($0.4 per litre) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Norway (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Price for Mineral or Aerated Water in Chile (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average mineral or aerated water export price amounted to $1.3 per litre, dropping by -24.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 65% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1.9 per litre in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($2 per litre), while the average price for exports to Cuba ($0.8 per litre) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (+19.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Mineral or Aerated Water in Chile

For the fourth year in a row, Chile recorded growth in overseas purchases of mineral or aerated waters, which increased by 69% to 3.5M litres in 2022. In general, imports showed a significant expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, mineral or aerated water imports skyrocketed to $2.7M in 2022. Overall, imports enjoyed a resilient expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports of Mineral or Aerated Water in Chile

In 2022, overseas shipments of mineral or aerated waters were finally on the rise to reach 28K litres after two years of decline. In general, exports, however, showed a sharp curtailment. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at 157K litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, mineral or aerated water exports surged to $36K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a sharp setback. The exports peaked at $130K in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
