The average export price for monumental or building stone, other than granite and sandstone stood at $111 per ton in 2022, increasing by 5.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 8.2%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $191 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($225 per ton), while the average price for exports to Pakistan ($51 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+23.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for monumental or building stone, other than granite and sandstone stood at $139 per ton in 2022, growing by 36% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 44% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $345 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($1,004 per ton), while the price for Poland ($75 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+18.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Monumental or Building Stone, Other than Granite and Sandstone in Ukraine
In 2022, approx. 15K tons of monumental or building stone, other than granite and sandstone were exported from Ukraine; waning by -60.1% on 2021 figures. In general, exports faced a significant decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 16% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 36K tons, and then plummeted in the following year.
In value terms, exports of monumental or building stone, other than granite and sandstone shrank significantly to $1.6M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a dramatic slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 16%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $3.9M, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.

In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 884% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 2.2K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imports of monumental or building stone, other than granite and sandstone dropped rapidly to $75K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a slight increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 161%.
