The average import price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds stood at $7,655 per ton in September 2022, declining by -5.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 2.6% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $8,380 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to September 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Chile ($12,180 per ton), while the price for Australia ($2,934 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (0.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In September 2022, the average export price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds amounted to $8,037 per ton, falling by -52.5% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2022 an increase of 112% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $16,926 per ton, and then fell markedly in the following month.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In September 2022, the countries with the highest prices were Hong Kong SAR ($8,881 per ton) and Mauritius ($8,171 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bangladesh ($7,441 per ton) and Malaysia ($8,116 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
