The average import price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds stood at $5,488 per ton in August 2023, which is down by -27% against the previous month. Over the last nine months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2023 an increase of 20% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $7,514 per ton, and then dropped markedly in the following month.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Spain ($6,412 per ton) and the Netherlands ($5,332 per ton), while the price for Germany ($5,116 per ton) and the Czech Republic ($5,166 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
