In December 2023, the average export price for nuts, edible; macadamia, fresh or dried, in shells amounted to $2,512 per ton, with a decrease of -7.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 19% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $4,272 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to December 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($2,593 per ton), while the average price for exports to China amounted to $2,476 per ton.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania (-3.1%).
