The average export price for paper, cigarette; in the form of booklets or tubeses stood at $33,979 per ton in March 2023, shrinking by -6.5% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a mild slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2022 when the average export price increased by 51% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $58,281 per ton. From July 2022 to March 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In March 2023, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($39,961 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States totaled $31,982 per ton.
From March 2022 to March 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (-1.8%).
