Price for Seafood Meals and Pellets in Iran (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average seafood meals and pellets export price amounted to $1,024 per ton, dropping by -3.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed mild growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 174%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $3,275 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($1,305 per ton), while the average price for exports to Azerbaijan ($87 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average seafood meals and pellets import price amounted to $1,373 per ton, shrinking by -2.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $2,319 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Exports of Seafood Meals and Pellets in Iran
After three years of growth, shipments abroad of flours, meals and pellets of fish or of crustaceans and molluscs decreased by -42.2% to 819 tons in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 544% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 1.4K tons, and then reduced sharply in the following year.
In value terms, seafood meals and pellets exports declined rapidly to $839K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a significant increase.
