In September 2022, the average smoked fish, incl. fillets import price amounted to $15,268 per ton, declining by -48.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a moderate expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 113% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $41,848 per ton in February 2022; however, from March 2022 to September 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Spain ($48,715 per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($13,213 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+13.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average smoked fish, incl. fillets export price stood at $23,923 per ton in 2022, surging by 6.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 18% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $26,835 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
