In November 2023, the average import price for steel, stainless; (excluding cold-drawn or cold-rolled), tubes and pipes of circular cross-sectia amounted to $10,133 per ton, declining by -2.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a slight slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 9.1% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $12,357 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to November 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($25,157 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($8,245 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the export price enjoyed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 149% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $19,689 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($27,543 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovenia ($2,076 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+12.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
