The average import price for steel, stainless; (excluding cold-drawn or cold-rolled), tubes and pipes of circular cross-sectia stood at $4,358 per ton in 2022, picking up by 7.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for steel, stainless; (excluding cold-drawn or cold-rolled), tubes and pipes of circular cross-sectia decreased by -25.3% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 63%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $5,836 per ton. Overall, the export price posted a perceptible increase. The export price peaked at $4,713 per ton in 2015; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ethiopia ($21,636 per ton), while the average price for exports to Maldives ($1,449 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bangladesh (+22.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a precipitous slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 4% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 63 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imports of steel, stainless; (excluding cold-drawn or cold-rolled), tubes and pipes of circular cross-sectia stood at $123K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 16%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $260K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.
