In October 2023, the average export price for steel, stainless; semi-finished products, other than of rectangular cross-sectia amounted to $1,052 per ton, reducing by -26.3% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a slight shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2023 when the average export price increased by 49% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,944 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to October 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($114K per ton), while the average price for exports to South Korea stood at $22,700 per ton.

From November 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+45.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
