In October 2023, the average export price for trade advertising materials and commercial catalogues amounted to $8,413 per ton, with a decrease of -5% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 9.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $8,857 per ton in September 2023, and then dropped in the following month.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In October 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Costa Rica ($9,280 per ton) and the United States ($8,566 per ton), while the average price for exports to El Salvador ($6,914 per ton) and the Dominican Republic ($6,939 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Guatemala (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average import price for trade advertising materials and commercial catalogues amounted to $2,788 per ton, growing by 16% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 25% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $4,410 per ton in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to October 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($4,653 per ton), while the price for the United States totaled $2,576 per ton.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (-0.6%).

For the fourth year in a row, Mexico recorded growth in shipments abroad of trade advertising materials and commercial catalogues, which increased by 3.9% to 20K tons in 2022. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 9.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports of attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, exports of trade advertising materials and commercial catalogues totaled $129M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 9.1%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
