The average tungsten ores and concentrates export price stood at $16,439 per ton in July 2023, with a decrease of -3% against the previous month. Over the period from November 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.5%. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 18% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $17,427 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($16,533 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($16,389 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Exports of Tungsten Ores and Concentrates in Bolivia

For the fourth consecutive year, Bolivia recorded growth in overseas shipments of tungsten ores and concentrateses, which increased by 14% to 2.3K tons in 2022. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +72.4% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 52% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $31M, and then contracted in the following year.
