Price for Used Pneumatic Tyres of Rubber in Japan (FOB) - 2023
The average export price for used pneumatic tyres of rubbers stood at $11.5 per unit in July 2023, surging by 4.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 7.7% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in July 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Bolivia ($16.6 per unit), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($8.0 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ghana (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for used pneumatic tyres of rubbers amounted to $34 per unit, picking up by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a pronounced setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 23%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $54 per unit. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from the Philippines ($34 per unit) and China ($34 per unit), while the price for France ($34 per unit) and Thailand ($34 per unit) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (-2.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
