In September 2023, the average import price for vegetables; celery (other than celeriac), fresh or chilleds amounted to $2,071 per ton, with an increase of 2.3% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated modest growth from December 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4% over the last nine months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, import price for vegetables; celery (other than celeriac), fresh or chilleds decreased by -38.4% against June 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 36% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,363 per ton. From July 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Thailand.

From December 2022 to September 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Spain amounted to +9.4% per month.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 120% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $5,750 per ton in 2021, and then contracted modestly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($5,635 per ton), while the average price for exports to Norway ($2,125 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+14.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
