In June 2023, the average export price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen amounted to $1,310 per ton, declining by -2.7% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2022 an increase of 145% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $1,346 per ton in May 2023, and then fell slightly in the following month.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In June 2023, the countries with the highest prices were France ($1,576 per ton) and Spain ($1,299 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($1,212 per ton) and Germany ($1,290 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average import price increased by 16% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $1,477 per ton in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($1,994 per ton), while the price for China ($1,156 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
