Price for Wadding; Other Articles Thereof, of Man-Made Fibres in Ukraine (FOB) - 2023
The average export price for wadding; other articles thereof, of man-made fibreses stood at $12,739 per ton in October 2023, with an increase of 4.5% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a temperate expansion from November 2022 to October 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0% over the last eleven-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, export price for wadding; other articles thereof, of man-made fibreses decreased by -30.2% against August 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2023 when the average export price increased by 48% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $18,250 per ton. From September 2023 to October 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($33,148 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($9,763 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Croatia (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average import price for wadding; other articles thereof, of man-made fibreses amounted to $15,645 per ton, picking up by 3.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 an increase of 36% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $26,908 per ton. From March 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was South Korea ($29,215 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($9,616 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Wadding; Other Articles Thereof, of Man-Made Fibres in Ukraine
In 2022, the amount of wadding; other articles thereof, of man-made fibreses exported from Ukraine fell significantly to 3.5K tons, dropping by -51.3% compared with the year before. In general, exports continue to indicate a precipitous decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 2.3% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 7.2K tons, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, exports of wadding; other articles thereof, of man-made fibreses contracted markedly to $37M in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a precipitous slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 15% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $79M, and then plummeted in the following year.

After three years of growth, purchases abroad of wadding; other articles thereof, of man-made fibreses decreased by -33.9% to 1.9K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a pronounced slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 20%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 2.8K tons, and then dropped sharply in the following year.
In value terms, imports of wadding; other articles thereof, of man-made fibreses fell sharply to $24M in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a perceptible contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 13% against the previous year.
