After two years of growth, production of ground-nut (in-shell) decreased by -5.8% to 854K tons in 2022. The total output volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% from 2017 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the production volume increased by 13% against the previous year. As a result, production attained the peak volume of 907K tons, and then fell in the following year. Groundnuts output in Guinea indicated a pronounced expansion, which was largely conditioned by perceptible growth of the harvested area and a notable expansion in yield figures.

In value terms, groundnuts production contracted modestly to $1.6B in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the production volume increased by 82%. As a result, production attained the peak level of $1.7B. From 2020 to 2022, production growth failed to regain momentum.

The average yield of ground-nut (in-shell) in Guinea contracted slightly to 1.1 tons per ha in 2022, waning by -2.1% compared with 2021. The yield figure increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the period from 2017 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 12%. Over the period under review, the average groundnuts yield attained the peak level at 1.1 tons per ha in 2021, and then declined modestly in the following year.
