Iron and Non-Alloy Steel in Ingot Production in Turkey - 2022
In 2022, after five years of growth, there was decline in production of iron and non-alloy steel in ingots, when its volume decreased by -3.4% to 39M tons. Overall, production, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 3,947,198% against the previous year. Production of peaked at 40M tons in 2021, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
In value terms, production of iron and non-alloy steel in ingots reduced remarkably to $88B in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, recorded strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 43%. As a result, production reached the peak level of $110.1B, and then fell dramatically in the following year.
