Propylene Glycol Price in India (CIF) - 2023
The average propylene glycol import price stood at $1,308 per ton in July 2023, which is down by -5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 7.5% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $1,883 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($2,066 per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($1,094 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (-2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average propylene glycol export price amounted to $3,719 per ton, increasing by 10% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 118% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($11,502 per ton), while the average price for exports to Israel ($2,063 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
