In July 2023, the average selenium export price amounted to $17,738 per ton, growing by 9.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 41% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in July 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($38,927 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($9,556 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($37,970 per ton), while the price for Japan ($9,674 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
