Slaked Lime Price in Cameroon (CIF) - 2022
The average slaked lime import price stood at $264 per ton in 2022, growing by 1.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a slight decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 62%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $308 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($1,645 per ton), while the price for Tunisia ($159 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+16.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Slaked Lime Price in Cameroon (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average slaked lime export price amounted to $473 per ton, surging by 5.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 86%. The export price peaked at $547 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Gabon ($1,261 per ton), while the average price for exports to Chad ($396 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Gabon (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Slaked Lime Imports in Cameroon
In 2022, supplies from abroad of slaked lime decreased by -11.2% to 506 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports recorded a sharp contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 3.3%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 4.3K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, slaked lime imports fell to $134K in 2022. In general, imports recorded a sharp decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 19%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $1M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
