Stationery Product Price in the United States (CIF) - 2023

The average stationery product import price stood at $4,246 per ton in August 2023, with an increase of 18% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 19% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $4,608 per ton. From January 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Canada ($7,503 per ton), while the price for Cambodia ($1,953 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Stationery Product Price in the United States (FOB) - 2023

In August 2023, the average stationery product export price amounted to $8,829 per ton, surging by 13% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 27% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $9,411 per ton. From January 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($11,614 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kuwait ($2,102 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Stationery Product Imports in the United States

In 2022, approx. 342K tons of stationery products were imported into the United States; with an increase of 9.7% compared with 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, stationery product imports skyrocketed to $1.2B in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern.
