Stranded Wire Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
The average stranded wire export price stood at $4,692 per ton in July 2023, waning by -12.6% against the previous month. Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 16% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $5,368 per ton in June 2023, and then reduced in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($7,743 per ton), while the average price for exports to Azerbaijan ($963 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Stranded Wire Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average stranded wire import price amounted to $3,443 per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, stranded wire import price increased by +70.6% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 29%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,486 per ton, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($11,151 per ton), while the price for Portugal ($1,405 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+7.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Stranded Wire Exports in Turkey
In 2022, stranded wire exports from Turkey shrank rapidly to 183K tons, falling by -51.4% against 2021. In general, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 112% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 377K tons, and then declined notably in the following year.
In value terms, stranded wire exports contracted remarkably to $550M in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 173% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $1.5B, and then declined sharply in the following year.
