In 2022, the average sulphides; polysulphides import price amounted to $1,183 per ton, declining by -6.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 103% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $3,466 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($18,629 per ton), while the price for China ($359 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Sulphides; Polysulphides Imports in Ghana
In 2022, supplies from abroad of sulphides; polysulphideses was finally on the rise to reach 22 tons after two years of decline. In general, imports, however, recorded a dramatic downturn.
In value terms, sulphides; polysulphides imports contracted to $27K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a dramatic decrease.
