Twine and Cordage Price in Italy (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average twine and cordage import price amounted to $6,105 per ton, surging by 21% against the previous month. Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($26,653 per ton), while the price for Serbia ($1,810 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+9.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Twine and Cordage Price in Italy (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average twine and cordage export price amounted to $5,490 per ton, falling by -25.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2022 an increase of 29% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $7,857 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was France ($26,733 per ton), while the average price for exports to Senegal ($1,660 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+16.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Twine and Cordage Imports in Italy
In 2022, the amount of twine, cordage, rope and cables imported into Italy surged to 12K tons, with an increase of 28% on the previous year. In general, total imports indicated strong growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.5% over the last three years.
