Urea Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023
The average urea import price stood at $325 per ton in July 2023, dropping by -8.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2022 an increase of 2.8% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $665 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Bahrain ($382 per ton) and Turkmenistan ($373 per ton), while the price for Azerbaijan ($280 per ton) and Oman ($311 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bahrain (+0.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Urea Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average urea export price amounted to $340 per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 10% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $729 per ton. From November 2022 to July 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Marshall Islands ($375 per ton), while the average price for exports to Syrian Arab Republic amounted to $326 per ton.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Marshall Islands (0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Urea Imports in Turkey
In 2022, the amount of urea imported into Turkey rose modestly to 2.6M tons, picking up by 1.8% against 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 15%.
