Wire and Cable Price in Ireland (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average wire and cable import price amounted to $8,557 per ton, declining by -6.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 25%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $9,191 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($15,709 per ton), while the price for Spain ($2,457 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Wire and Cable Price in Ireland (FOB) - 2022

The average wire and cable export price stood at $20,668 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 46% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 72% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $30,823 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($60,587 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($11,099 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+24.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Wire and Cable Imports in Ireland

In 2022, the amount of insulated wire and cable imported into Ireland surged to 76K tons, increasing by 20% against 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated significant growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +20.0% over the last three-year period.
