India (81K tons) ranked third in terms of total consumption with an 8.7% share.

Imports

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of tools of wood, when their volume increased by 10% to 198K tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Global import price peaked at $2,242 per ton in 2018; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($3,805 per ton), while Bolivia ($182 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
