Wool; Carded Price in China (FOB) - 2023

In June 2023, the average wool; carded export price amounted to $3,025 per ton, growing by 11% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2022 when the average export price increased by 40% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $3,880 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($19,800 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($2,282 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+26.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $20,075 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
