Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, carob exports declined remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by X%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell rapidly in the following year.

Morocco represented the key exporter of carob in Africa, with the volume of exports finishing at X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Algeria (X tons), generating a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Egypt (X tons) and Tunisia (X tons) - each reached a X% share of total exports.
