In 2022, overseas shipments of cloves increased by X% to X tons, rising for the third consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, exports showed resilient growth. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, clove exports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports posted temperate growth. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Madagascar dominates exports structure, reaching X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. Tanzania (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Comoros (X tons). All these countries together held approx. X% share of total exports.
Madagascar was also the fastest-growing in terms of the cloves exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. Tanzania (X%) and Comoros (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Madagascar and Comoros increased by X and X percentage points, respectively.
