Melon seed exports reached X tons in 2022, with an increase of X% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, exports showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, melon seed exports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of X%. At the same time, Zimbabwe (X%), Kenya (X%), Ghana (X%) and Nigeria (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Zimbabwe emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Tanzania (X%) and Madagascar (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
