In 2018, Cameroon (X cubic meters), distantly followed by South Africa (X cubic meters), Cote d'Ivoire (X cubic meters), Egypt (X cubic meters), Ghana (X cubic meters) and Gabon (X cubic meters) represented the largest exporters of wood sawn or chipped lengthwise, together constituting X% of total exports. Zambia (X cubic meters), Zimbabwe (X cubic meters), Congo (X cubic meters), Mozambique (X cubic meters) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (X cubic meters) occupied a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Zambia, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2018 figures, the sawn wood imports increased by +X% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010, with an increase of X% y-o-y. The volume of imports peaked at X cubic meters in 2017, and then declined slightly in the following year.
