Beer Exports

Exports in Asia

In 2022, shipments abroad of beer increased by X% to X litres, rising for the second consecutive year after three years of decline. Over the period under review, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X litres in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, beer exports reached $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

China represented the largest exporting country with an export of around X litres, which accounted for X% of total exports. Thailand (X litres) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Vietnam (X%), South Korea (X%), Turkey (X%), Japan (X%) and Singapore (X%). The United Arab Emirates (X litres), Malaysia (X litres), India (X litres), Hong Kong SAR (X litres) and Kazakhstan (X litres) held a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to beer exports from China stood at X%. At the same time, the United Arab Emirates (X%), Kazakhstan (X%), Japan (X%), Hong Kong SAR (X%) and Vietnam (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the United Arab Emirates emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. India and South Korea experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, beer imports contracted to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade.
