Plywood Exports

Exports from Bulgaria

In 2023, overseas shipments of plywood decreased by X% to X cubic meters, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, exports saw a mild setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X cubic meters. From 2018 to 2023, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, plywood exports contracted notably to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2022, and then contracted notably in the following year.

Exports by Country

Romania (X cubic meters), Greece (X cubic meters) and Germany (X cubic meters) were the main destinations of plywood exports from Bulgaria, with a combined X% share of total exports. France, Austria, Italy, Serbia, Spain, North Macedonia, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Morocco and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2022 an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per cubic meter, and then reduced in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Bulgaria

In 2023, plywood imports into Bulgaria surged to X cubic meters, growing by X% against the year before. Over the period under review, imports showed significant growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
